Only the Cuisinart cordless kettle has the same arrangement and it is way more money. Most others have side handles which makes it hard for those with carpal tunnel or arthritis to deal with when filled. Boils quickly, especially if you fill it with a few cups of water for coffee/tea/etc.Although a tad noisy (all stainless kettles are), the auto shutoff is nice feature. The lit side switch pokes out and is a little curious. (I am a big tea drinker) When it finally died, I was going to buy another Cuisinart. I didn't realize how expensive the Cuisinart was, even on Amazon! I finally settled on this Maxi-Matic and I have not been disappointed. It has a large capacity, heats up fast, and I love the see through window so you can tell how much water is in the pot without opening it. Other reviewers have brought up the following points: the outside gets hot, it is noisy, and the turn on switch seems flimsy. Well, all stainless steel pots get hot, and it isn't any noisier than the Cuisinart. I kind of agree with the flimsy turn on switch, but since I don't abuse my appliances, turning it on with a soft touch is not a problem for me.
