I was taking the filter out and hit the side slightly making a big hole on the side. Now, I am ordering a new pot from the producer which is half the price of the set. Previously, I used the kettle without incident about 3x week to heat hot water for tea and used the carafe about once per month. I told my friend about it, hoping he might have the receipt since he gave it to me as a gift; instead, he went out and bought me a different brand of replacement kettle. It's been my experience that these types of kettles are not kitchen workhorses. I've used other brands and they last for a few years before something inevitably goes wrong. Don't expect them to last forever. Nevertheless, in my book I think one year of moderate usage from the Russell Hobbs is relatively poor quality for the price. I can't endorse the replacement brand just yet as I need to use it longer to see how it holds... Read more |
